Censored

The Cato Institute, a non-profit public policy think tank is calling out this government's tries at censoring opposition to the Drug War. The first example is the Change The Climate provision but next up our government is supporting measures in the UN to make it illegal to try to make something legal.
In other news, Afghanistan is back to number one on the opium production charts, up from 77 tons in 2001 to 3600 tons in 2003. [from the Top Ten Drug War Stories of 2003]
CBS has rejected MoveOn's bid to air the winner of the bushin30seconds contest during the Super Bowl. Viacom's excuse was: we don't air advocacy issues. The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy will be airing ads. No advocacy there. Because of Matt Drudge's "incomplete and edited 'transcript' of Margaret Cho's set at the MoveOn.org show", she has received some interesting emails. The names and email addresses of the authors of the emails have been removed.
An internet tradition may have ended when the Christmas Island nic .cx decided to take down goatse.cx. For the time being, please use lemonparty.org.

Haha, I like the pancake-rabbit-head one. Pancake on rabbit head survives as a goatse meme! I just saw this one. Subtle. Posted by: agent1073 at January 17, 2004 5:44 PM |
