Lotek Porn Revisited

Awhile ago I mentioned some highly pixelated porn paintings and I ran across it again. Here! They're almost sold out, although I think the reason this one hasn't is that it's a control meant to see how deep into the abstraction people will buy in.
On rotation on the walls of Betty's in Columbus right now is Cyber Girls of the Week, a series of pornstar girl's faces stitched into rug in something like 3-bit color by the artist Whitney Lee [more at columbusalive]. What's interesting is that Eliana says she stole the idea from her including the name "Soft Porn". Who knows if Lee will ever fess up, but remember this: "Good artists copy, great artists steal." - tomo. [OK, it was Picasso.]
While we're on the subject of porn, or rather erotica, this Polish photographer combines hi-resolution with lo-techniques to create some altogether strangeness. I would call it porn but it's really not that hot. So I'll call it erotica.

Literally stole? As in Eliana was hanging out with this girl and brought up the idea? Or stole as in "hey I thought of that first"? Yeah, Eliana literally whispered the concept and name into her ear. The latter case, someone else coming up with "your" idea happens all too often.. no idea truly being original, they say. The people who have the ability to stop smokin pot long enough to go implement the idea thusly deserve credit for realizing the idea for others to see.
