Event Horizon wasn't just a great movie...

...but maybe also something to come?
I read an article in the Frankfurt paper yesterday about the Itor Nuclear Fusion Reactor. The article stated that the earliest predicted use of Nuclearfusion for power is 2050.
Besides enjoying the funny and somewhat scary start-site-picture, I was pondering two things: whether creating basically a 'mini sun' on earth was a bright idea, and what would we do if it (like we all know it will) turns into a dark, liquid-like portal to a parallel universe of pain, horror, and darkest fears and secrets.

I'm still bitter about Event Horizon. It was billed as conceptual sci-fi a la 2001, but it was pretty much horror flick. I vowed never to go into space after watching it. I like making promises that aren't too hard to keep. Posted by: karen at July 6, 2005 2:23 PM |

I think I enjoyed it because I was expecting sci-fi and got horror instead. I want to go to space. Posted by: ryan at July 6, 2005 3:01 PM |

Yeah, I think we were at the theater for a movie that was sold out and saw EH instead. We were like "oh cool, a sci-fi movie" as soon as the blood started spurting ryan peed his pants and cried like a baby. To this day he won't go anywhere near a black hole. Posted by: jt at July 6, 2005 5:43 PM |

I felt better after I picked my nose and ate it though. Posted by: ryan at July 6, 2005 10:51 PM |
